Connect with us

Hello and Welcome to Our New Gulf Coast Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association Website!

Posted about 14 years ago by Susan Rinkus Farrell

It is my pleasure to announce the exciting launch of our new website and the many changes with GCGAPNA.

First, you may have noticed that our name has changed.  In keeping with the national organization, GAPNA, we changed our name to encompass all Advanced Practice Nurses.

Second, GCGAPNA no longer collects local dues from its members.  Members join GCGAPNA through GAPNA.  When you join GAPNA, you will be asked if you want join your local chapter – we are listed as the Houston Gulf Coast Chapter.  This is a GAPNA benefit included in your membership fee.  By checking yes to join your local chapter, GCGAPNA receives $25.00 from GAPNA to help support our local chapter.  This is the only way for you to become a member of GCGAPNA now.

Third, we now have a website where we can communicate and connect to other APNs.  Our website creates a channel of communication from our group to each of our members.  In addition, the GCGAPNA website is also networked to over 80 APN websites nationwide on the ENP Network.

Our official web address is: www.gcgapna.org

This website provides our members and visitors with a variety of features:

  • Local, regional and national APN news and events
  • Legislative and clinical practice updates
  • Job and member resume postings
  • Preceptor networking
  • Office and volunteer opportunities
  • And much more!!

You are receiving this email because you are either a current member of GAPNA or you have been previously associated with GCGAPNA (formerly known as the Gulf Coast Gerontological Nurse Practitioners Association).

JOIN GCGAPNA

Look for your name in the MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY.  A yellow star in front of your name means that you are a paid member of GAPNA/GCGAPNA and have full member access privileges.  If you do not see a yellow star in front of your name, we invite you to join GCGAPNA through GAPNA.  GAPNA will notify us of memberships every quarter.

This is a new process and 2010 is a transition year.   If you do not see a yellow star in front of your name and believe you are a paid GCGAPNA member, please use the CONTACT US form to let us know.

About Your User Profile

Your Professional Profile has just been created and is already listed in the MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY section of our new website.   Simply find your name and login to edit your profile.

Your user profile is a valuable professional networking tool and it is how we are able to communicate with you from our group website. Each time we post news, announcements, or upcoming events on our group website, you will receive a message informing you of the new posting.

About Our New Website

In an effort to provide our members with the best possible tools, resources and web based technology, we have chosen ENP Network to power our group website. They are the largest provider of web-based services to APN groups in the U.S. This means that we are a part of a much larger community of APN groups nationwide, with a common goal of working together to create a more unified and powerful APN voice as a profession.  Visit their site at www.enpnetwork.com

We thank Andrew Keller and his team at the ENP Network for their dedication and support in developing the new GCGAPNA website at no cost to our organization! If you have any questions or need technical help with enrolling in the website or logins, please contact our web support team at akeller@enpnetwork.com

We welcome you to our new website and invite you to join GCGAPNA and network with your fellow colleagues via the website and local meetings.  This is our website to grow as we need in order to meet our members’ needs.   We look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you,
