The Houston Division of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is pleased to present a 5 hour seminar entitled “Opioid Prescription Drug Abuse” on June 16, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Rice University, Glasscock Building, 6100 Main Street, Houston, Texas 77005. Click here to register

This seminar is designed to raise awareness of the current nationwide opioid epidemic with primary care physicians treating patients with chronic pain and nurses managing care of patients with chronic pain. Topics will include the current state of opioid prescribing in United States and Texas guidelines for prescribing opioids and an overview of DEA requirements regarding the handling of controlled substances pursuant to Federal regulations.
